Terms of Service

What CallShop does

You call or text us, tell us what you need, and we do it for you online: ordering from stores, booking rides, refilling prescriptions, making appointments and similar errands. Some tasks are done by software and some by our staff.

We only do tasks, and use stores and services, that our policy board has approved. We may decline a request that falls outside them. If you think we got one wrong, text APPEAL and your reason and the board will review it.

Your account

Your phone number is your account, and your PIN protects it. Keep your PIN private. You are responsible for requests made with your phone and PIN. If you think someone else knows your PIN, contact us and we will reset it.

Please give us accurate information, like your name and delivery address, so orders arrive correctly.

Orders and confirmation

Before we buy or book anything, we read back the item, quantity, price, total and delivery address, and you confirm with a yes and your PIN. We will not spend more than the total you approved. If the price goes up at checkout, we come back to you first.

Payments

You pay the store or provider's price plus our service fee, which we tell you before you confirm. We place a hold on your card when you confirm and charge it once the order goes through. If the task fails or is cancelled before purchase, the hold is released.

For some services, like rides or pharmacies, the provider charges your own account with them directly, and we charge only our service fee.

Cancellations and refunds

Text CANCEL to stop a task that hasn't been bought yet. Once an order is placed, the store's own return and cancellation policy applies, and we're glad to help you with it.

If we make a mistake, such as ordering the wrong item, contact us and we will make it right.

Other companies

Products and services come from the stores and providers we use for you, under their own terms. They are responsible for what they sell and deliver; we are responsible for placing the order you approved.

SMS text messaging program

Program name: CallShop Customer Care.

What it is: CallShop sends text messages only to customers who ask us to do something for them. Texts are replies to your requests, account setup links, purchase confirmations asking for your yes and PIN, photos of the options we found, order and ride status updates, and receipts. We do not send marketing or promotional texts, and we do not send texts on behalf of any other company.

How you opt in: by texting our number with a request, or by saying yes when our phone assistant asks whether we may text you. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase.

Message frequency varies with how often you use CallShop, typically a few messages per request. Message and data rates may apply.

Opt out: reply STOP at any time. You'll get one confirmation and no further texts. Reply START to opt back in. Help: reply HELP or contact us using the details below.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy and text messaging terms for details.

Fair use

Please don't use CallShop for anything illegal, to order for someone without their permission, or to abuse our staff. We may suspend accounts that do.

Our responsibility

We work hard to get every task right, but we can't promise the service will always be available or error-free, and we aren't responsible for delays or problems caused by stores, carriers or other providers. To the extent the law allows, our responsibility for any task is limited to the amount you paid us for it.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a significant change, we'll let you know by text. Continuing to use CallShop means you accept the updated terms.
